City of Lodz supervises schools, public and non-public institutions, educational process as well as the matters related to the participation of schools and educational institutions, run by the city. The city participates in many projects under the European Union educational programs and projects co-financed by the structural funds, deals with the rasing, for schools and educational institutions run by the city, funds from other public sources. City of Lodz oversees the work of more than 360 public schools in city.
Changes in the system of education in Poland cause that many of schools implement the projects as a supplement the basic curriculum. Additional activities allow for the development of the education institutions, teachers and students. Participation in the different projects causes the acquisition of knowledge, better understanding of the world and exchange of the good practice.
